Child Mental Health Waiver- Respite

Respite services are provided to children under the Child Mental Health waiver in order to give children and families a needed break. To qualify for CMH respite, a child must have a diagnosis of mental health or emotional disturbance by a psychologist, psychiatrist, or therapist. Respite services are in place to keep families united, healthy, and happy. Services take place in a Respite Provider’s home and community. Happy Home provides a comprehensive support team for children to remain in their own homes and community.

Intellectual Disability Waiver-Respite

Respite services are provided to children under the Intellectual Disability waiver in order to give temporary relief to the parent/caregiver. To qualify for ID respite, a child must have a diagnosis of intellectual disability by a psychologist or psychiatrist. Services take place in the respite provider’s home and community. Happy Home provides a comprehensive support team for children to remain in their own homes and community.

Intellectual Disability Waiver-SCL

SCL is a one-on-one skill-oriented service that focuses on daily living needs, such as personal and home skills, community skills, personal needs, transportation, and treatment services. Children and adults qualify with a diagnosis of intellectual disability. Members receive services in their own home or community settings. Happy Home supports members in becoming independent, happy, and healthy.

HAB- Home & Community Based Habilitation

HAB services are provided to adults to meet the service needs of individuals with functional limitations associated with chronic mental health. Services are focused on improving self-help, adaptive skills, obtaining resources, housing, financial independence, transportation, and assisting with improving overall mental and physical health. Services take place in members’ homes and community settings. Happy Home provides a support team for members to become independent, happy, and healthy.

Habilitation Home

Located in Ottumwa & Centerville. Members rent a room from Happy Home while receiving habilitation services, as defined above. Affordable rent, access to common living spaces, and centrally located; shopping, mental health center, pharmacy, and banks! We work with individuals with zero income, provide bed & bedding to those in need, paid YMCA membership, paid birthday dinners, & paid monthly community outings.

Day Habilitation

Located in Centerville. A community setting to help individuals with disabilities to develop or improve daily living skills, socialization skills, and integrate into the community. Goals are individualized for each member to foster skills and personal choice in order to achieve greater independence.
